Many are anxious to see what Young Boy Tizzy is going to do with this buzz hes created. Mizz L

Mizz L :  What’s goin’ on, everybody?  It’s your girl “Mizz L ,” doin’ it real big, and joining me inside the DJ Booth is a up and coming MC’s .  Please welcome Young Boy Tizzy–  how you doin’?

Young Boy Tizzy:  What’s up, what’s up?

Mizz L:  How you doin’ today?

Young Boy Tizzy: Im doing good im livin so I cant complain. How about you Mizz L

Mizz L:  I’m doin’ fine, I’m doin’ fine.  You know, I was listening to your mixxtape before the interview and ive got to say i was really impressed! How old are you?

Young Boy Tizzy: Thank You. Im 16

Mizz L: Young Boy Tizzy whats the story behind your name?

Young Boy Tizzy: Wow. (chukles) Well I got my name from a friend. I was like 12 and there was this 16 year old girl named Karmen and I had a crush on her and one of my friends told her and I guess she thought it was cute and she would play with me and be like thats my lil boyfriend and then one day I grabbed her breasts and everybody saw me cuz we was at a basketball ball court and this dude we call bubba was like oh he a lil titty boy so all my friends started calling me titty and eventually it got old so i told them to change my name and my right hand changed it to Tizzy and I added the Young Boy and now Im Young Boy Tizzy

Mizz L:  Okay, see, that was the explanation that I needed, but, off this question, where are you from?

I was born in Montgomery County, Maryland I even lived out there until I was about 11. But I dont claim Moco I claim Uptown

Mizz L:  Why?

Well even though I lived in Moco all those years I have no ties there. Uptown is what made me. Its like I had all my first there my first kiss, my first real girlfriend, first fight and the list goes on and on. If you go Uptown anybody thats a somebody knows me from Shepard Park to KDY and if I dont know you one of my friends do .Like if I took you to Ft. Stevens right now Mr.Shaun and Ms. Nikki could tell you the first time they me walking up to the playground with my grandad at 3 to coming by myself at 5 and from there on.

Mizz L:  You seem like the popular type?

Young Boy Tizzy: I dont think I would use the word popular I dont really like it but I would say im known .

Mizz L: Wow. Ok back to the music! From listening to your mixxtape I didnt expect that coming from you.

Young Boy Tizzy: What did you expect?

Mizz L: I was expecting like Bow Wow or Unk. I deinitely wasnt expectin g those lyrics or that consistency!

Young Boy Tizzy: That  doesn't suprise me. I mean no disrespect to either one of those dudes. But I was more a Bow Wow of a rapper when I was like 13 but after a while I just wasn't feeling the basic rhymes anymore I mean its nothing wrong with basic rhymes but im the type of person that will do better if I know how to so I sat down and got better.

Mizz L: How?

Young Boy Tizzy:I sat down and got on LimeWire and I downloaded old hip hop records like the blue print pharcyde's passing me by I basically went back to lyrics so I was listening to allotta DMx Jada Jay Nas Pac Biggie Joe and then i would look up Cassidy Fabolous Pappoose Busta Juelz and then I went at bigger beats and now Its a rap.

Mizz L:  Well, let’s roll off that answer.Let’s go through a little course in Fly as I wanna Be101.  One, when you get Fly as U wanna Be the ladies are probably feelin’ you, but how can I get Fly as I wanna Be so that the fellas are feelin’ me?  How do people actually roll with this and be successful?

Young Boy Tizzy: For me its to each his own. Like for me personally I think its all about swag cuz swag will make a ugly dude get a gurl and vice versa to be fly you gotta be fresh and clean. So if you a girl you definitely got your hair done your nails done all that good stuff you know.

Mizz L:  Speaking of girls! What are you like when it comes to them?

Young Boy Tizzy: What do you mean what am i like? Are you asking do I get them or...

Mizz L: Yes. Tizzy(laughs) do you get them?

Young Boy Tizzy: Not to brag or nothing but I get my share. But im chillin now.

MIzz L:  Second question: what is the silliest thing that you’ve ever done, to this point in your life, that you regret doing?

Young Boy Tizzy:  The silliest thing I’ve ever done…

Mizz L:  Mm-hm, that you regret doing.

Young Boy Tizzy:  Um, let me see… I don’t think I’ve done anything that was silly that I regret doin’ so far.  I can’t answer that question right now, man.

Mizz L:  Okay, so maybe I have to get back to you in five years, and you’ll have a better answer for me?

Young Boy Tizzy:  Yeah, I might. [laughter]

Mizz L:  All right.  Third question: is it silly for hip hop fans, who have long felt like the industry should go in only one direction, to say that, “ringtone rap,” which is what your single has been classified as, is quote unquote “ruining” the genre of hip hop?  Is that silly?

Young Boy Tizzy:  Nah, I don’t think that’s silly.  I think the only thing silly about that is, whether they like it or not, rappers can still get money out here.  I feel like people that have problems with it – you know, that’s why they call it “ringtone music” – is the people who can’t adapt to the changes.  Nothing in life stays the same.  The way things worked five years ago, ten years ago, is not the way things is working now, so if you don’t know how to change and adapt to life, then you’re gonna get left behind, with [those] funny-looking grills on your face, while the rest of us [are] gettin’ money – that’s how I see it.

MizzL:  But so many artists in the past have released that [one hit], and then their careers have gone south.  How do you escape the harsh reality, in this music business, that so many artists before you have suffered through, to make sure you are not a one-hit wonder?

Young Boy Tizzy:  Well, first of all, I stay down, and I stay loyal to my craft.  I don’t get lazy concerning my gift; you always have to exercise it.  I’ve put in a lot of work to where I have a good reputation, of making big music, so I’ll never have a lack of it.  Second of all, I feel like you have to stay humble, and never get big-headed.  What goes up will come down, so if you are blessed with the opportunity to have success and be on top, then you be humble while you’re up there, so you don’t have a harsh fall.  I don’t worry about ever fallin’.  I know I’m here by destiny.

MizzL:  You’re absolutely right about that.  V.I.C., a press release about your musical versatility said that you were able to offer, “danceable party jams as easily as you can deliver introspective, poetic parables,” and I am quoting directly.  Give me an example of an introspective, poetic parable that listeners will be able to hear on your debut album?

Young Boy Tizzy: This is true. Did you want a freestyle?

MizzL: Would you be so kind?

Young Boy Tizzy:

my mo said neva lend wat u cant afford to loose

and ur friends is sumfin that u wisely gotta choose

u gotta learn fast cuz people prey on fools and

nothin comes free in life bcuz u gotta pay your dues

i think like how i walk and im swift when i move

let me brainstorm bout wat i cud invest in

i could cop a dunk and let it make mus sum cash but hold fast how am i gonna pay 4 da gas.

Mizz L: That was tough Well, it certainly sounds like you have a lot of versatility and you’re not lacking in the confidence department, so I wish you nothing but the best of luck, Young Boy Tizzy.  Give everyone a website or a MySpace page so they can find out more about what you got goin’ on.
